The Science Behind It
Persistent itching is usually a barrier failure rather than a pure allergy. When the collagen in skin runs down, allergens get through far more easily. Restore the barrier and there's much less for the immune system to react to.
Dosage & How To Use
Pump straight onto food, once a day. Under 10kg: 1 pump. 10–25kg: 2 pumps. Over 25kg: 3 pumps.
How quickly will I see results?
Scratching generally eases off around the second or third week. Coat, paws and ears usually follow between weeks four and eight.
What's in each serving?
Types I & III Collagen 900mg, Type II Collagen 40mg, MSM 400mg, Hyaluronic Acid 50mg. Nothing else — no binders, no bulking agents, no common allergens.

Three dogs. Three different problems.

Every one of these owners had already tried the expensive route first.

Belly before and after
★★★★★

The 3am scratching finally stopped.

Two years on medication and she was still up before dawn clawing at her stomach. Hot spots on rotation, the cone on and off all year, every shampoo and grain-free food going. We started this on a whim and inside a fortnight the scratching had all but stopped. Nothing new has flared since. Her skin is settled and she sleeps right through — which means I do too.

Paws before and after
★★★★★

He's left his paws alone for a month.

The injections held for a few weeks at a time and then we'd be booking another appointment. He chewed constantly — both front paws rust-stained and swollen between the toes. Three weeks in and the chewing simply stopped. The staining is lifting and the skin between his pads has closed over properly for the first time since he was a pup.

Ear before and after
★★★★★

Not one ear infection since week four.

Same fortnightly routine for two years — dark gunk, the yeasty smell, him ducking away the second he saw the cleaner. We started this and by the fourth week the cotton pad came away clean. Three months on and there hasn't been a single infection. Even our vet commented on it.

Everything the Skin Barrier Needs
And Nothing It Doesn't

Rebuilds Barrier

Types I & III Collagen (900mg)

Roughly 90% of skin tissue is built from these two. They're the raw material for repairing what's worn away.

Calms Inflammation

Type II Collagen (40mg)

Takes the heat out of the itch itself, with clinical work behind its effect on immune response.

Supports Repair

MSM (400mg)

The cofactor that lets the body turn collagen into usable barrier tissue. Without it the rebuild stalls.

Locks In Moisture

Hyaluronic Acid (50mg)

Holds hydration in the skin so it stays supple, instead of cracking and letting allergens back in.

✓ Easy on sensitive stomachs ✓ No fillers, no common allergens
Chews & Powders
  • Quietens the symptom for as long as you keep buying
  • Bulked out with binders and cheap carriers
  • Around a fifth actually absorbs — the rest is wasted
  • Little to no usable collagen reaching the skin
VS
Wagsupps Liquid Collagen
  • Repairs the barrier from underneath
  • Four active ingredients, nothing padding them out
  • Absorption up to 98%
  • Addresses why the itching keeps coming back

Why We Went Liquid

What gets absorbed is what counts.

Chews and powders are pressed and baked at high heat, and most of the collagen doesn't survive it.

Ours is cold-processed and stays intact, so almost all of it reaches the skin barrier where it's needed.

It also ends the nightly negotiation over a treat your dog has decided they hate. It goes on their dinner and that's that.

Veterinarian, integrative practice
It changed how I handle allergy cases

I wrote allergy scripts for more than ten years. They work — but the same dogs kept coming back on higher doses. Once the barrier piece clicked for me, my whole approach shifted. This gives a dog the actual material to repair what's broken down, which no medication can do. I've watched patients step down their dose within a couple of months. It's on my list for every allergy case now.

I did not expect it to hold up

My first thought was: here's another supplement promising to fix allergies. But the barrier-depletion research is sound and the absorption difference in a liquid is real. I trialled it on the cases I'd run out of options for — dogs already maxed out on medication and still scratching. The skin changes were obvious. Coats thickened. A few owners mentioned better digestion, which wasn't something I'd predicted.

50,000+ households and counting

More than 50,000 dogs are on Wagsupps now, with skin that finally holds up on its own — no endless itching, no hot spots on rotation, no monthly round of ear drops. We were never interested in quietening the symptom. We're here to rebuild what sits underneath it.

Questions We Get Asked

How does this actually work?
It supplies the four things skin needs to rebuild its own barrier. Once that barrier is intact, far fewer allergens get through, so there's much less for your dog's immune system to fire at.
How is it different from Apoquel or Cytopoint?
Those interrupt the itch signal. This works on the reason the signal is being sent. Plenty of owners run both to begin with, then taper the medication with their vet's input.
Why liquid rather than a chew?
Chews are heat-pressed and most of the collagen doesn't survive the process. Cold-processed liquid stays intact and absorbs at up to 98%.
How long before I notice anything?
Usually less scratching by week two or three. Coat, paws and ears tend to follow between weeks four and eight.
Is it safe?
Yes — four natural actives, nothing else, produced under GMP standards.
Can I give it alongside current medication?
Yes. It's a supplement, not a drug, and doesn't interact with the usual allergy prescriptions. Talk to your vet before changing any dose.
How much do I give?
Under 10kg: 1 pump daily. 10–25kg: 2 pumps. Over 25kg: 3 pumps. Straight onto food.
What if it does nothing for my dog?
Then you haven't paid for it. Message us inside 60 days and we'll refund you.
My dog has a delicate stomach — is that a problem?
Usually the opposite. It's the fillers and binders in chews that upset most sensitive stomachs, and there aren't any here. Start on a half dose for the first few days.
Does it contain chicken or beef?
Neither — the two proteins dogs most often react to are both absent.
